Special Purpose refers to financial statements or entities created to fulfill a specific, often temporary, objective, such as a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) used in structured finance. These are designed to isolate financial risk and are not intended for general use. Special purpose financial statements may focus on particular aspects of an entity’s financial performance or position, tailored to meet the needs of specific stakeholders.
