An Operating Lease, or “uitleg operational lease,” is a contractual agreement allowing the lessee to use an asset without ownership transfer. Payments are considered operating expenses, not capitalized on the balance sheet. This lease type is typically short-term and does not confer the risks and rewards of ownership to the lessee. It is commonly used for equipment and property.
