Declining Balance Depreciation

Declining Balance Depreciation is a method of allocating the cost of a tangible asset over its useful life, where the depreciation expense decreases over time. This approach applies a constant depreciation rate to the asset’s remaining book value each year, resulting in higher depreciation charges in the earlier years and lower charges in later years. The declining balance method is often used for assets that lose value quickly.
