Operating Income, often referred to as operating income def, is a financial metric that measures the profit a company generates from its core business operations, excluding deductions of interest and taxes. It is calculated by subtracting operating expenses, such as wages and cost of goods sold, from gross income. This figure provides insight into the efficiency and profitability of a company’s primary business activities.
