Batch Costing

Home » CMA Glossary Term » Cost Accounting » Batch Costing

Batch Costing is a cost accounting method used to determine the total production cost of a specific batch of goods. This approach aggregates all costs associated with a batch, including materials, labor, and overhead, and then divides the total by the number of units in the batch to ascertain the cost per unit. Batch costing is particularly useful in industries where products are manufactured in distinct groups or lots.
