Treasury shares are shares that a corporation has issued and subsequently reacquired. These shares are held in the company’s treasury and are not considered when calculating earnings per share or dividends. Treasury shares can be reissued or retired, providing flexibility in managing capital structure. They do not confer voting rights or dividends while held by the company.
