Stock Dividends

A stock dividend is a distribution of additional shares of a company’s stock to its shareholders, proportionate to their existing holdings, without any cash payout. This non-cash dividend increases the total number of shares outstanding, thereby diluting the share price, but does not affect the company’s overall market capitalization. Stock dividends are often used to reward shareholders while conserving cash.
