Generally, no, CMA exam fees are not refundable once paid. The IMA’s policy is that fees are committed at the time of registration. There are limited exceptions for documented medical emergencies or military service, handled on a case-by-case basis through the IMA. If you can’t take an exam you’ve registered for, your better option is to reschedule through Prometric within your current testing window rather than letting the fee go to waste. The CMA Handbook spells out all the refund and rescheduling policies in detail, and the rules can change, so always check the current version on the IMA website before assuming anything.
