Ethics shows up on both parts of the exam, but it has its own dedicated section in Part 2 (Section F: Professional Ethics). You’re expected to know the IMA’s Statement of Ethical Professional Practice, built around four principles: honesty, fairness, objectivity, and responsibility, plus standards for competence, confidentiality, integrity, and credibility. You’ll also see content on how to handle ethical conflicts, including the resolution framework the IMA recommends. Expect both MCQs and case-based questions where you’re asked to identify an ethics violation and recommend the right course of action. Don’t underestimate ethics — it’s a small percentage of the exam, but the questions are often easy points if you’ve studied the IMA standards carefully.
